
In converting power plants to coal; blasts of compressed air into the firebox would greatly reduce smoke, improve combustion, thus completely burning the coal, and increase heat from a given amount of coal. Furthermore, steam locomotives are available for nuclear plants temporarily shut down – other plants too – and there ain’t no radiation from coal smoke, neyether!
